From Bird Paradise Outing to Bowling and Buffet, MWS Honoured our Nurses

“Wind Beneath Our Wings”. 

That is the theme for MWS’ Nurses’ Day celebration this year. 

Inspired by Bette Midler’s iconic song, the theme typified the supportive role our nurses play in uplifting our beneficiaries, and propelling MWS forward. It pays beautiful tribute to these selfless professionals who play an undeniably crucial role in the lives of our beneficiaries. 

To show appreciation to our healthcare heroes, MWS treated all our nurses to a fun day out at the new Bird Paradise, where they bonded over bird shows, animal feeding sessions and walk-through aviaries. 

“It was wonderful bonding with colleagues, enjoying the waterfall, and watching the penguins and flamingos,” said Senior Healthcare Attendant Tan Yit Toh. 

Separately, the Centres also held their own fun-filled celebrations. MWS Christalite Methodist Home organised a CMH Bowling Tournament at SAFRA Yishun; while MWS Bethany Nursing Home – Choa Chu Kang hosted a BBQ and Ice-cream Party (sponsored by Aldersgate Methodist Church) for all their staff, residents, next-of-kin and volunteers. 

At MWS Nursing Home – Yew Tee, our nurses embarked on their very own ‘YT Amazing Race’, followed by a high tea buffet. 

“A thumbs-up to the organising committee who came up with the idea for ‘YT Amazing Race’. It was fun, interesting and an out of the ordinary Nurses’ Day celebration! Although my team did not win, it brought out the spirit of team bonding and unity,” said Staff Nurse Nadiahan Tim Laurence Sarol.
