Volunteering at MWS

BE AN MWS VOLUNTEER!

Our volunteers fill critical roles, driving positive change and making a tangible difference in the lives of our beneficiaries.

In turn, being a volunteer helps you feel connected to your community, allows you to contribute to causes you care about, and provides a sense of purpose. It’s also a great way to meet new people and strengthen existing relationships.

We walk alongside all our volunteers, through training programmes, feedback sessions and celebrations.

E.g. befriender, door knocking community outreach, pastoral care volunteers. Frequency: from ad hoc to monthly. To be a befriender at our Active Ageing Centres is a 6-month commitment.

Share Your Expertise

Have a skill or knowledge you can share? Whether it’s flower arranging or digital literacy, teach our beneficiaries and engage them, or just offer to help out at the Centre. E.g. tutor, admin support, digital literacy ambassador. Frequency: from ad hoc to weekly.

Imagine & Create

Love craft, painting, or music? Unleash your creativity and share your passion with our beneficiaries through a variety of fun and creative activities. E.g. art and craft facilitator, festive celebration organiser, music jamming facilitator. Frequency: range from ad hoc to weekly.

Keep It Movin’

Like the outdoors? Take our beneficiaries out for some fun and educational activities! You can organise an outing, plan a party, carnival, or even an educational excursion for half a day. E.g. outing organiser or assistant. Frequency: ad hoc or during school holidays

Reminiscence Activities

Love nostalgia? Take our beneficiaries on a journey back in time by visiting heritage sites, listening to music, telling stories and tasting traditional food. E.g. reminiscence activity organiser or facilitator. Frequency: ad hoc, weekdays.

Home Improvement

Help brighten and improve a beneficiary’s living space through painting, cleaning, simple repairs, and renovation work. Frequency: ad hoc, project basis.
