SUPPORTING AGEING WITH DIGNITY & PURPOSE
Green Drumming
A total of 150 seniors across six MWS Active Ageing Centres took part in the programme, turning recycled pails and sticks into musical instruments. As they drummed along to familiar tunes, they sharpened their cognitive and rhythmic abilities while developing a shared love for music-making.
Dance Me to the Moon
Nostalgic tunes and guided movement brought seniors at MWS Active Ageing Centre – GreenTops@Sims Place back to the dance floors of their younger days, rekindling joyful memories. Conducted with Shaw Heritage Arts and Wellbeing Studios and Decadance, the initiative supported physical and cognitive well-being while fostering social connections.
Wellness Carnival
To mark International Allied Health Day and promote healthy ageing, MWS Active Ageing Centre – Fernvale Rivergrove organised a community outreach event featuring adaptive sports, cognitive games, and interactive booths by partners Sengkang General Hospital and The National Kidney Foundation.
Knock on Doors, Open Hearts
New permanent residents (PRs) took part in a door-to-door outreach to connect with seniors served by MWS Active Ageing Centre – Fernvale Rivergrove. In partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Empact, the initiative strengthened outreach efforts while fostering volunteerism and integration through service.
Gardening Club
Through this weekly therapeutic programme, clients at MWS Senior Care Centre – Eunos planted and cared for herbs, vegetables, and flowers. The hands-on sessions promoted physical and cognitive stimulation while sparking reminiscence of past gardening experiences.
