TALENT DEVELOPMENT & ENGAGEMENT
MWS Attains Workplace Learning:READY Mark
In January 2026, MWS became the first community care organisation to be awarded the Workplace Learning:READY (WPL:READY) Mark, recognising our strong and structured workplace learning culture and practices. Conferred by the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning (NACE), led by Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) with support from SkillsFuture Singapore, the national certification recognises organisations that embed learning into daily work in a systematic and sustainable way.
Through upskilling opportunities, academic sponsorships, leadership programmes, overseas conferences, study trips, and on-the-job learning, MWS invests in the growth of its people. By building professional capabilities and exposing staff to emerging practices and perspectives, these learning opportunities enhance the quality of care and support provided to clients. We remain committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning that strengthens service excellence and improves outcomes for those we serve.
Workplace Learning in Action
After completing accreditation in microlearning design, Talent Development Executive Jillyn Wong partnered with Senior Nurse Clinician Zhang Ran to develop a microlearning module on infection prevention and control. By making learning accessible anytime and anywhere, the module helps strengthen infection prevention and response capabilities. More than 300 healthcare staff have completed the module, supporting quality care across MWS
Nursing Homes.
Merci Erica Tan (Counsellor), G Thanya (Social Worker), and Pamela Goh (Senior Social Worker) were among staff from our Family Service Centres who attended the International Childhood Trauma Conference 2025 in Australia. There, they gained deeper insights into trauma-informed care, equipping them to better support individuals and families through recovery.
Learning Through Immersion
Making HR Support More Accessible
As part of their onboarding journey, new employees participated in a community outreach activity at Jalan Berseh and experienced MWS’ mission in action. Going door to door to engage seniors and share about our MWS Wesley Active Ageing Centre’s programmes and services, they gained first-hand insight into our work and the communities we serve, while building meaningful connections with the residents.
AskHR, an artificial intelligence-powered virtual human resources (HR) assistant on Microsoft Teams, was launched as part of MWS’ efforts to enhance employee support. The tool enables employees to quickly get answers to common HR-related queries anytime, anywhere.
