Who it is for: Individuals or volunteers who would like more knowledge to support friends or couples experiencing marital difficulties. Limited to 20 spaces per training slot.
Trainers: Counsellors working with couples from Strengthening Families Programme (Methodist Welfare Services) and MWS’ volunteer management representatives
Synopsis:
This interactive, hands-on workshop will cover:
- Insight into types of marital issues and common interaction patterns of couples
- Principles on working with couples
- Skills to improve communications
- Resources that are helpful in working with couples and mitigating the impact of marital conflicts on children
Participants will be given a copy of the MWS Befriender’s Toolkit: Engaging Couples in Marital Conflict. The Toolkit will be used as the basis for role plays and discussions.
