Celebrating our Volunteers

On 8 December 2023, over 200 MWS volunteers and staff gathered at PARKROYAL on Beach Road for the biannual MWS Empowering Life Awards, which celebrated the exemplary commitment of our volunteers. 

The event was a heartfelt expression of gratitude, and featured song and dance performances by students and seniors from MWS. The indispensable role of volunteers was underscored by MWS Chairperson Eugene Toh and MWS CEO Calvin Ngo in stirring speeches where they shared poignant anecdotes of those who went above and beyond to serve those in need.

Among the distinguished awardees was Dr Peter Ng, recipient of the Empowering Lifetime Award for 26 years of faithful service. He reflected, “It is very encouraging to see so many stepping up to volunteer. I am heartened to know that as I step down from my role, I can pass on the baton and continue to serve others in a different capacity.” 

His words capture the spirit of commitment embodied by our volunteers. We deeply appreciate the partnership and support of volunteers, and look forward to empowering more individuals and families together.
